Blogging is Learning!

I have used blogging for a variety of purposes and in a number of different context over the years. I have found it an especially effective tool because:

-reflects the reality of the world our students live in
-removes the intimidation that the traditional pen and paper
tasks often entail
-technology has allowed for a great deal of emancipation and
therefore more students can express their thoughts because
they have access

The Wisdom of Ningwakwe...

"Aboriginal literacy is about recognizing the symbols that come to us through the Spirit, Heart, Mind and Body, interpreting them and acting upon them for the improvement of the quality of our lives. Institutional education systems have tended to focus on the Mind – through cognitive outcomes, and possibly Body – through physical education, and subjects that teach physical skill, such as woodworking. That is, 50% of us is not being recognized and nurtured in that system.”
